Neurosurgeon: Don't let coronavirus fears delay needed treatment

Patients with acute medical events may find themselves hesitant to seek care at hospitals because of the fear of COVID-19 transmission and may be jeopardizing their health when seconds count. But experts within the Crozer-Keystone Health System offered reassurance.

Dr. Erol Veznedaroglu, also known as "Dr. Vez," is chair of the Global Neurosciences Institute and a renowned cerebrovascular neurosurgeon who does procedures at Crozer as part of the system and institute's partnership to provide this care.

As part of the GNI team and through interactions with medical colleagues, Dr. Vez said they've noticed a huge delay in patients coming to the hospital during the month of April.
